Rambøll was engaged by Nordic Energy to assess which areas within Utsira Nord and Sørlige Nordsjø II are most suitable for offshore wind development. We evaluated technical factors alongside environmental and community interests across the study area and recommended the zones best suited for an offshore wind farm. Our Visualization role covered two deliverables: building a high‑fidelity digital model and producing photomontages.
We developed a digital twin of the project area and surroundings to support design, communication, and permitting. The terrain was triangulated and refined with FKB data for precise road and flat‑surface definition; existing buildings were reconstructed from public LiDAR, and aerial imagery was draped for recognizability. Trees were generated from laser data with species distribution set from measured inputs. The project model was processed and filtered to remove confidential information before publication. In parallel, we produced photomontages of the onshore measures associated with the project—these are the only images shown on this reference page, as offshore turbine locations remain confidential. The outcome was stronger internal project understanding, clearer external communication, and a more robust basis for the concession application.
