Client: Eidsiva Hafslund Vind DA
Year: 2023
Country: Norway
We supported Eidsiva and Hafslund in planning a new onshore wind farm south in Aremark, comprising 29 turbines with 209 MW installed capacity. To aid design reviews and stakeholder dialogue, we built a photoreal, georeferenced 3D model of “Aremark Sør” in Rambøll Interactive (Unreal Engine), using public GIS sources (LiDAR, elevation, maps, orthophotos). The core area was modelled at high detail and included accurate turbine and road alignments. The interactive experience offered easy navigation, before/after comparisons, time-of-day lighting and shadow controls, toggleable layers for trails, outdoor areas and plan boundaries, saved camera viewpoints, and one‑click image export—delivered via web streaming.
Our role was Project Lead and Lead Producer. We handled planning, quality assurance, deliveries and client contact, and coordinated the visualization team. The result was a shared, easy‑to‑understand decision basis that clearly showed landscape and visibility effects for authorities and affected parties. Early design became more precise through rapid iteration directly in the model, improving participation, reducing misunderstandings, and strengthening the subsequent planning and permitting work.
